I like to be selective about who I read when I'm writing, but especially when I'm editing. Dean Koontz takes description to a new level, and though he scares the bejeepers out of me, I'm always amazed at how it changes my writing and I write things so amazing I barely recognize them. Thankfully, on very few occasions have I slipped a horror scene in a book.
Creative Avoidance books so far in 2011:
The Time of My Life by Alisson Winn Scotch
Shadowfever by Karen Marie Moning (FINALLY!)
Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert (because apparently everyone read it last year)
Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Sir ArthurConan Doyle
Santa loaded me up with a billion dollars in amazon.com gift cards, so the kindle is loaded down with new stuff.
As for my books, BOUNCE HOUSE is done, polished, and in ready to query.
ROUND HOUSE is full-steam ahead.
DEAD MONEY came out of nowhere, and is pushing me to write a non-fiction....hmmm.
What's on your list?
